Tomorrow is the 1st of September, and can someone please tell me where the summer has gone? September to me is the first official month of fall, despite the weather here in Arizona still being over 100. August blew past us, with busy and exciting new things happening, some of which kept us from posting regularly (sorry!). However, we both knew we could not miss our monthly favorites post, so without further ado, here are the things that kept us going this month.
Having just finished up with my old Kate Spade Planner, it was time to get a new one. With school starting up, it is very important for me to have a place to write things down (by hand) as I tend to forget them if I don’t. However, this year I did not feel like spending the money on the Kate Spade planner so I went on the hunt for a more affordable one. I like this planner, as it has many of the things I loved about the Kate Spade one at half the cost.
I know I mentioned this in my Mini Bag Post, many moons ago, but this constant favorite of mine was very important during this month. Why? You might ask, well the answer is simple I have to walk a lot around campus in the 100+-degree heat (mentioned in the paragraph above). You should always carry deodorant and something to make you smell better in your school bag.
As a Bryan Fuller fan, I tuned into to watch this show. BEAutifully filmed, amazing well acted and surprisingly on basic cable show ended on Saturday. The show was sometimes hard to watch, with its all its gore and mind-bending plot lines but the twists and the characters made me watch week after week. It was canceled way to soon, but unlike many shows got the ending it deserved (though it will hopefully pop up again somewhere). Though the show is over you can find it on Itunes, Amazon Prime and DvD.
When I moved for the first time this summer, the water in the new area of the city combined with my shampoo and Conditioner started giving me dandruff. This was a problem, which though common, I had never had to deal with before. I began to shop around for a new hair care routine that would leave me without the embarrassing white flakes and thanks to many a beauty blogger on Youtube I found OGX. Problem Solved and bonus my hair is now really soft.
I am normally the person who has to be listening or doing something at every minute of the day. It’s why I have seen so many movies, listen to podcasts and troll the internet. This app however, gets me for like 5 minutes a day to sit down and breath.
Currently, I am loving a bright, bold pedicure. My color of choice? Cherries in the Snow by Revlon. This cheery pop of color always makes me smile.
I have two adorable dogs and while they are beyond cute, I hate having my house smell like dog. Besides sweeping and vacuuming like it’s a part-time job, I rely on candles to keep my house smelling fresh. In my opinion, Caldera candles are the absolute best. They all smell fantastic and hide lingering odors. The Citroen Ginger is my favorite; it’s fresh and not overly sweet smelling. Perfect for burning all day long.
As you may have noticed from the lack of posting, this month has been stressful. You know what is not stressful? The beach. This face spray by Lush will transport you, if only for an instant, to a tropical vacation. In addition to it’s stress-reliving properties, this face spray will also keep your skin looking and feeling great.
4. Frosty Paws.
As mentioned above, I have two fur babies. My Cairn Terrier, Beau, had his birthday this month. To celebrate his special day, I picked up some Frosty Paws on my way home from work. These adorable dog treats have become a summer favorite. When the days are reaching over 115 degrees, my dogs appreciate this fresh and tasty snack.
I recently discovered Andrew Duhon’s song Sidestep Your Grave. I can’t stop listening to it. I love his folk-blues sound.
