Sarah here today. What are the fall wardrobe pieces I can’t get enough of? Let’s take a look at some of my favorites and how to style them.
Love, love, love this dot print tie blouse from Macy’s. You can use this blouse in so many looks. Pair it with a pencil skirt (black or maybe maroon) and some pumps for a cute basic business look. Pair the blouse with boyfriend jeans, chunky heels, and a blazer for a fun casual outfit. You could also mix it up with black skinny jeans, booties and a moto jacket for yet another cute look.
Another cute option, also from Macy’s Charter Club line is this striped shirt dress. It’s definitely a funky piece. The colors are what I really love. For some reason the navy and red pairing just make me think of London. I see this paired with black tights and boots or barelegged with some booties. For accessories this dress would be so cute with a little necktie or one of those black string chokers that have recently come back into vogue.
Next up, this awesome suede mini skirt by Motel. I’m sure you have all noticed that the suede skirt is back. What makes this skirt so fun are the gold buttons going up the front. It’s those little details that keep your outfit from matching everyone else’s. The possibilities for this skirt are endless. Pair it with over the knee boots, tights, and a chunky black sweater for fall and winter temps. Pair it with a crisp white blouse and some flats for a more conservative look.Top it with a t-shirt or crop top for a night out. Heck, you could even pair it with a dot print blouse from this post.
These wide legged striped pants from JCPenny are amazing! These pants use the same color palette as the dress above and they are one of those fun “wow” pieces you should add to your wardrobe. Pair the pants with a basic solid colored t-shirt or a solid colored turtle neck. Note; you should definitely wear heels or platforms with these pants as flats will cause the pant bottoms to drag and your look will seem off. Accessorize with one of the following: a long pendant necklace, chunky bracelet, cuffs, or larger hoop earrings. If you wanted to get crazy, I would try throwing a faux fur or fuzzy vest over the top to really jazz it up.
One of my go-to’s to dress up an outfit or add some visual interest is a blazer. This hounds tooth blazer from Target is the perfect piece for updating your wardrobe for fall. Pair this blazer with either skinny jeans or flared jeans, booties, and a white t-shirt or turtle neck. If your wear glasses, leave the contacts at home, to fully embody your inner British professor. Want to go a little more casual with this look? Swap our your white top with a graphic t-shirt and you go from studious to fun instantly.
Black Leather pants are making a comeback. This season you can make them look classy, sporty, modern and everything in between. These pants will be in heavy rotation for the next few months. Pair them with a hoodie and Adidas for a casual day out. Throw on a crisp blouse, blazer, and a pair of heels and rock these pants to work. Swap out your blazer for a moto jacket and you get to mix business and pleasure. Toss on a t-shirt and a statement necklace and you are ready for a night out. These pants work with EVERYTHING (even the blouse I started this post with!)
This fall season the tunic gets a refresh. They are longer than in previous years with super long slits up the side. Loose, comfortable, and yet impeccably minimal and modern; tunics are one of the chicest looks out there. This gorgeous tunic from Anthropolgie has a sweater like quality to it and looks modern with its side-cutouts. Pair this piece with leggings, skinny jeans, leather pants, boots or booties. Add a giant pendant necklace to keep with the modern “I work at an art gallery” feel.
Which of these pieces will you be adding to your closet? Did I miss a must-have? Let me know in the comments!
