With Halloween right around the corner, I felt it was the appropriate time to do another movie charecter Monday. For this post I went looking for a screen icon that had both an amazing fashion sense and could easily double as a recognizable Halloween costume. Thanks to Netflix and their recommendation, I landed on Uma Thurman’s iconic and cult favorite role as Mia Wallace from Pulp Fiction.
Mia Wallace is the druggy Wife of the films head gangster, a failed actress who famously dances with John Travolta in a twist competition. In the entirety of the film she is never seen in any color other than black and white often with a men’s wear twist.
Her famous dance scene outfit has her in a simple white oversized white shirt and black slacks, the character also rocked gold smoking flats until her iconic dance scene. This look worked in a laid back environment because of the choice in proportions, while the pants were extremely fitted the oversized slouchy white shirt added a fun element to it. To recreate this look, Madewell’s Oversized Boyfriend in Pure White and a pair of Sloan-Fit Slim Ankle Pants from Banana Republic. Worth the money not only to channel the iconic character but also as they are easy wardrobe staples. For those who don’t want to walk around with add shoes add a pair of easy and comfy gold flats.
To achieve ultimate Halloween Costume add a simple and easy black wig with bangs.
