Paolo Sebastian aw 2015 Couture and Little Dancer of Fourteen by Edgar Degas
The dress could have pulled inspiration from many a tutu, but I choose the Little Dancer because of its Iconic status in the art world.
Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer by Gustav Klimt and Givenchy Couture 2010.
The famous painting got its own film this year, but I found it inspiring for the dress because of its jagged gold patterns that are mirrored in the dress.
Kenzo S/S 2014 and The Great Wave off Kanagawa by Hokusai.
The top shirt of the Kenzo shirt has a repetitive wave pattern reminiscent of the wave pattern in the Hokusai print, making the inspiration clear.
